Hunter Island Press (HIP) is a not-for-profit organisation with our primary objective to establish and operate a professional public access print studio in Hobart. The studio, located at Wirksworth House in Bellerive, provides a place for artists to create work and pass on our skills to the community.
Membership, AUD$50 per year or AUD$30 for concession holders, allows for studio access and inclusion in HIP exhibitions. Members can also have a personal members gallery page on this website.
Recently Hunter Island Press has been involved in collaborative projects which have resulted in works for sale. The Meadowbank limited edition is available as a boxed set as well as a number of single prints. You can view the launch of this project on a previous news post. We also have work for sale from our collaboration with the Eastern Shore Writers to produce Haiga prints. Information about this work can also be viewed on a news post. Please contact our promotions officer, John Ingleton, for further enquiries.
Did you know that in October this year, the Clarence City Council celebrates 150 years of existence? To celebrate, the artists of the Hunter Island Press in collaboration with the Clarence City Council, would like to showcase 150 years of photographic memories in an art exhibition and series of artist-run digital printing workshops.
