The recent publication of John Olsen’s works (graphics) from between 1957 to the present is an awe inspiring collection of etchings nad lithographs that span a career of concentrated effort. He has maintained an expressive form of stroke and detail which defies an obsession for a pursuit of perceived perfection and sustains his creative spirit. This is an awe inspiring accolade.
"Teeming With Life" is written by Ken McGregor and Jeffery Makin, and well worth a look at.

Hunter Island Press got a mention in the spring edition of Imprint magazine. The Tas News article reads; HIP " …was officially launched on 25 May 2005 by Lynne Uptin, Manager of Arts Tasmania, at a very successful print sale in Sidespace Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre.
More than 50 local printmakers have joined forces to create an association that aims to promote Tasmanian printmakers and print in all its forms, create awareness of environmentally safe print practices, and establish an open access printmaking/research facility (as funds permit).
Hunter Island was historically the centre of Hobart Town when the British first colonised Tasmania. Today this dockland area is the centre of an arts precinct linking Hunter Street and the School of Art with Salamanca Place and its many galleries…"
Imprint magazine is an excellent source of information about current printmaking exhibitions, technical stories, competition announcements and artist reviews and interviews. It is the quarterly journal of the Print Council of Australia Inc.
