Jennifer Marshall (detail), 2005
The Tower of Babel exhibition is a collaborative effort of works on paper featuring Milan Milojevic, Barbie Kjar, Jennifer Marshall and Jacki Parry. The show was opened on the 15th of December and will continue until Sunday the 22nd of January. The Carnegie Gallery invitation says "the works in this exhibition have been inspired by the writings of Jorges Luis Borges (1899 - 1986) and include installations, etchings, woodcuts, digital prints as well as paper constructions and drawings.". The Carnegie Gallery is found at 16 Argyle St, Hobart and occupies the upstairs space of the Maritime Museum. The exhibition is a fascinating collection and well worth taking the time to sit and ponder the different interpretations of the theme.
