Art School Open Day Photos
Hunter Island Press had a stall at the open day which was very useful for creating more awareness of what we are offering for printmakers in Hobart. There is plenty of excitment about as we follow the plans for renovations to the Eastern Shore buildings that will become home base, and also for the exhibitions planned for the rest of the year. We have an exibition scheduled for Sunday 8 October to 22 October at Morning Toast Gallery, followed by one at the Sidespace Gallery from the 28 November to 11 December.

The Big Print was a big event for the third year printmakers who created a large print using a number of woodblocks. Each block was carved to a specific form featuring IXL in some way. The blocks were rolled up, the paper laid down and then plenty of hand rubbing of the back of the paper before the lawn roller was brought in to finish the job!

Also happening was a display of stecil art out in the front courtyard. Die Laughing Collective got together to produce an elaborate yet cohesive group of images throughout the day.
