Iona Johnson and Imprint Magazine
Tuesday, September 11th, 2007
If you have the spring edition of Imprint magazine then you will have noticed Iona Johnson’s beautiful work in the commissioned prints for 2007. “Regrowth”, lino cut (and etched) and emboss, is 38cm x 28cm and as Iona writes “reflects on the effects that humans have on the environment.” Imprint is the quarterly magazine for the Print Council of Australia and the prints commissioned are available to subscribers who have paid an extra fee to be able to pick from the 6 works on offer.
Iona’s print sits alongside GW Bott, Jillian Allan, David Nixon, Cat Poljski and Jonas Ropponen. The artists have come from diverse backgrounds and the prints have a sense of their experiences in Australia.
The six prints will be on show at various locations around Australia and in Hobart from the 22nd of September to the 12th of October at the Plimsoll Gallery, Tasmanian School of Art, Hunter Street, Hobart.
