HIP Studio - 1st state

The HIP studio is finally operational. Suzi Tyson joined me in rearranging the furniture and mounting the press, paper roll and water bath to make the small studio into a workable space.

The press bed is 100cm x 54cm and sits easily on this old table donated by UTAS

and getting ready to print one of her fabulous shaped plate prints.

As noted above this is only the first state for the studio - we do not have facilities for etching, etc but if you have plates, lino, collagraphs, etc you can make a booking and come on over and start printing (call John on 0401067486 during business hours).

As money becomes available the Department of Economic development will complete the renovations and lay the ground for a fully operational studio. To give you some idea of what is in store here are some pics of theĀ  space in its current state.

The main (relief printing) area looking back through the stable doors. Plenty of good light once the temporary building is removed.

looking back through the relief area. There will be a similar sized area at the other end for lithography and an etching/graining area in between.
