Images of Tasmania 10
Images is currently on show at the Long Gallery at the Salamanca Arts Centre. There are several Hunter Island Press members represented in the exhibiting group (the following artists are not necessarily HIP members though).
The entrance to the gallery is filled with a painting by Andrea Warren who recently completed her honours year at the University of Tasmania School of Art.
Kath Sinkora has worked some superb charcoal drawings in response to the display of Aboriginal bark canoes that were recently made in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. There is also a lovely small scale print accompanying the drawings.
Rosalind Burgess has several beautifully executed drypoint etchings depicting scenes from northern China where she lived for a year, as well as some Tasmanain landscapes.
The exhibition continues until January 3rd and is open daily from 10am to 6pm, except Christmas Day.
