Marco Luccio @ Wirksworth studio

Sunday 30 January – through the combined efforts of HIP and the Fern Tree Printmakers, Melbourne artist Marco Luccio was enticed to spend a couple of hours talking about his work and twenty years of experience as a print artist.
After showing a short video about how he makes his work (which you can find here on his website)
he talked enthusiastically about implements, tools, paper, presses, ink and the nitty gritty of his mark making. Naturally, the 29 printmakers present pestered him with questions which were answered with great candour.
Marco’s passion for drypoint etching, the influences of Piranesi, Martin Lewis and Herta Kluge-Pott and hisĀ desire to always include some marked reference to the site of his images were all discussed.
Then we were treated to 8kg of prints which he had brought with him from Melbourne especially for the occasion
Nothing compares with inspecting prints first hand. Thanks Marco for giving us your time and sharing your passion
