Upgrading Your Browser
Have you got one of those older browsers like Netscape 4 or Internet Explorer 5 on your computer? Do some pages on the internet not work for you anymore? Well a big part of this problem you’re having is that time has moved on and you might need to upgrade to something a bit more comfortable. Think of it as trading in your old Mini for a smart little coupe.
But Why Bother Upgrading?
Why else would you want to upgrade browsers? Well to be honest most people have just been using what they were given with their Operating System and that was probably Internet Explorer. As a web professional I know exactly how much this browser currently sucks and it has serious security flaws you might want to be aware of (for instance read this) - Internet Explorer is a pig browser with some major problems. Until they improve their game towards customers it is probably in your best interest to use something better.

The Right Browser for the Job
Depending on whether your computer is Linux, Windows or a Mac machine you simply need to choose the right browser for your needs. I’d personally suggest Firefox on Windows and Safari on Mac at this point in time but its only a personal view, all of them work fine and will serve you well.
Ditch Internet Explorer 5 on Mac
A major headache is Internet Explorer 5 on Mac which until recently was the default browser which you got out of the box. Ditch its sorry behind because it has some serious issues which is why most Mac users choose to install Firefox, Camino or Safari.
Take Responsibility for Your Web Experience
I guess in the end its up to you - we need to take some personal responsibility in how our experience of the web plays out. If we choose to use inadequate tools we can not complain about the undesired bad experiences. You might even find your new best friend is a browser that actually works for you, too. All browsers are not the same no matter what anyone tells you - I’m a web professional and I know.
