Fifth mini-print sale: exhibition opening
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009
Wow, what a fantastic and positive start to the May mini-print sale – opened tonight by our wonderful HIP secretary Angela O’Brien-Malone, at The Long Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre. She made a very positive speech, that educated guests the objectives and a brief history of HIP, and gently encouraged them to ‘buy buy buy’! And she must have made an impression, as we also signed up a new HIP member on the night.
Importantly, a big thank you to Janice Luckman who had big shoes to fill with John away in Paris – and what a wonderful job she and everyone did, to help make the exhibition happen. Walking into the gallery took my breath away – everything looked absolutely beautiful. And it was such a great turnout – I think we even ran out of wine glasses! (Maybe that’s why we sold so many prints?)
If you are planning on visiting this exhibition, I would recommend coming along sooner rather than later, by the rate of which the prints were selling. The quality of the prints displayed was remarked by many as being the best examples ever! Well done to everyone that submitted work for exhibition/sale.
Here are some snapshots of the night, including a small selection of the prints, from the hundreds that were on display:
